Packed Flexible Rails BOFIt’s very simple. Flex on Rails is hot, and your hubby is a Rock Star. (Or maybe its the other way around, I wouldn’t know.) I got nothing in compensation for this message. Well, maybe a tee-shirt, but it doesn’t fit.Peter Armstrong

Seriously, the Flexible Rails BOF way outstripped attendance expectations. Clearly, using Adobe Flex to sex-up Rails applications has a growing interest group. Flex is now open source, adding fuel to the fire.

In Peter’s words, “Last year, maybe two people, including me, were interested in this topic.” There are more than two people talking about Flex and Rails this year. The passion that drove Peter to pursue getting Flex and Rails to work together over a year ago came through in the presentation.

The one-hour BOF presentation went through the Flex and Rails story at a blinding clip. It’s too bad there wasn’t a full session on the subject at the conference.

I guess you’ll have to read the book to get the full story.

    Too funny!

When I was talking with Peter about the BoF, he had mentioned an expectation of about five interested people. In fact, we had even considered just packing the group up and heading for drinks somewhere. The actual attendance blew me away!

And to think that it was only earlier that afternoon that Peter even got a projector - after refusing the costs of the OCC and purchasing one himself at a local Best Buy. What a trooper!

    Regards, Kevin

I came across Flex Ruby yesterday and am thinking about using it for my next project. Along with Adobe’s Apollo and the open sourcing of the Flex SDK, it looks to be exactly what I need. Pretty exciting stuff!
