Cluttered Desk

I’ve got my 23″ Cinema Dsiplay working with the SunRay 1G. It was a bit of an RTFM thing. You must configure the SunRay for auto-resolution for the X piece

/opt/SUNWut/bin/utxconfig -r auto

and then set the default resolution for the SunRay hardware piece.

/opt/SUNWut/sbin/utresadm -d -c IEEE802.00144f215fd8 -t default
/opt/SUNWut/sbin/utresadm -a -c IEEE802.00144f215fd8 -t default 1920x1200@60d

The steps are detailed in an article at sunrays.org, which looks like a reprint of a Sun InfoDoc.

  1. […] Sadly, there is some incompatibility between the SunRay and my Apple Cinema Display. (Update, this now works!) […]

Thanks, I was stuck in 640×480 on my Sun Ray for some reason but this helped. I actually ended up running /opt/SUNWut/bin/utsettings and changed it, but I wouldn’t have had the idea to do so without this post. :D
